IRIS - Integrated Range Information and Status

Continuously integrates data into user workflows, providing the required information at the right time, which significantly enhances operational readiness

Orbtial Services - Anchor

Interoperable Orbital Services

Design Process

I conducted a series of activities across the design process utilizing user research, expert interviews, field observations, and workflow analysis, revealing task improvements that influenced iterating wireframes and mockups used during development to build a functional prototype.

Outcome

Design and research bridged the knowledge gap during sprint cycles providing insights into user and workflow obstacles which enhanced designs to emphasize decision-making, task guidance, and visualizing orbit determinations.

Rocket Communications, Space Domain Contract

The feasibility project explored multiple stand-alone applications sharing tasks to work towards a common goal by establishing an interoperable platform allowing users to view, combine, and utilize different datasets to form new objectives, procedures, and processes.

Digital Transformation

Digital Transformation with User Ecosystems

Design Process

Outcome

Research and workshops aligned stakeholders to develop the initial enterprise data management model aligning user ecosystems to enterprise roles and responsibilities influencing priorities for data architecture and user engagement.

I designed a discovery workshop to identify the values, attributes, roles, responsibilities, and obstacles for developing an enterprise data management model while conducting secondary research identifying user archetypes and research objectives

United States Space Force, Space Operations Command (SpOC)

The project explored digital transformation through enterprise data management governance requiring understanding user ecosystems, assets, and obstacles.

Scheduling

Standardized Scheduling Paradigm

Design Process

I developed and tested a low-fidelity prototype integrating multiple data sources, transitioning the system from simple data capture to a schedule generation tool. I compiled desktop research, conducted user interviews, developed a design workshop, and led prototype evaluations to test a paradigm for standardizing scheduling.

Outcome

Developing the standardized scheduling paradigm and usability testing produced a baseline for stakeholders to evaluate operational decisions and quickly take action.

United States Space Force, Moorman Space Education and Training Center

A challenge encountered was a limited time frame resulting in developing a 1-day workshop to capture user frustrations, needs, and desired outcomes. While the short time frame presented obstacles to capturing user information, focusing on task analysis revealed insightful details about current procedures and processes.

Space Wiki

Embracing Continuous Incremental Progress

Design Process

I conducted research and design activities revealing project obstacles and usability issues preventing community engagement. I utilized heuristic evaluations, workflow audits, user ecosystem mapping, and task analysis to identify process improvements and create iterate mockups for design critiques.

Outcome

Continuous Research provided structure for parallel development tracks to improve current UI and prepare for UX research and design refinement activities.

The Space Wiki project aimed to establish a community of practices by improving user engagement by solving usability issues for migrating to a centralized repository.

Talent Management

Modernized Talent Management System

Design Process

I collaborated with designing a discovery workshop to understand the current status of talent management and uncover requirements for career progression. I compiled desktop research, conducted stakeholder and user interviews, collaboratively designed a workshop, triangulated findings, and co-authored an executive summary report.

Outcome

Research and discovery workshop resulted in several actionable recommendations for aligning talent management and job positions with career progression emphasizing user skills, experiences, and career aspirations.
